The Bamiyan Cultural Centre (BCC) represents an intervention that is born from the desire to create the ideal environment for the exchange of knowledge, sharing of ideas, and appreciation of the surrounding heritage.
Emerging within the woven landscape of the plateaus, the BCC respectfully arises to allow the active contemplation of the Bamiyan Valley. Its drilled body, like wrinkles in the plowed field, generates a system of open spaces that flow freely breaking boundaries between indoor and outdoor. This rhythm sets the rules for the colonization and qualified definition of the intervention in general.
The building is located on the upper plateau, leaving the rest of the land for public use. Multiple outdoor areas, which may develop cultural activities overlooking the valley of Bamiyan, are defined. These external programs, such as outdoor exhibitions, multipurpose stands, and the scenic viewpoint, develop collective activities while enjoying the surrounding landscape.

The carefully arranged fragmented volume system creates a continuous and open space ranging sequentially from the compression to the expanded areas designed for the congregation and social relationship. The sequence of courtyards operates as a large outdoor corridor that allows outdoor activities and social encounters. A latent and vibrant space in constant use. El Centro Cultural de Bamiyán (BCC) representa una intervención que nace del deseo de crear el entorno ideal para el intercambio de conocimientos, la puesta en común de ideas y la apreciación del patrimonio circundante.
Surgido dentro del paisaje tejido de las mesetas, el BCC se levanta respetuosamente para permitir la contemplación activa del Valle de Bamiyán. Su cuerpo perforado, como las arrugas del campo arado, genera un sistema de espacios abiertos que fluyen libremente rompiendo los límites entre el interior y el exterior. Este ritmo establece las reglas para la colonización y la definición cualificada de la intervención en general.
El edificio se sitúa en la meseta superior, dejando el resto del terreno para uso público. Se definen múltiples áreas exteriores, que pueden desarrollar actividades culturales con vistas al valle de Bamiyán. Estos programas exteriores, como las exposiciones al aire libre, los puestos polivalentes, el mirador escénico, desarrollan actividades colectivas mientras se disfruta del paisaje circundante.
