RUIZ PARDO - NEBREDA (RPN) is an award-winning practice based in Madrid, founded in 2011 by Marcelo Ruiz Pardo and Sonia Nebreda. The firm operates as a multidisciplinary team offering fully integrated architectural and engineering services. RPN has an extensive international track record, successfully developing projects from the conceptual phase to the handover of completed works.

The firm’s works span several countries, including Puerto Rico, Namibia, Paraguay, Zambia, El Salvador, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Portugal, and Spain, and they have managed and delivered projects in sixteen additional countries.

RPN’s work has been exhibited in the international architecture biennials in Argentina, Quito, and El Salvador, as well as in international exhibitions in Japan, Argentina, Germany, Ecuador, El Salvador, and the United States.

Their work has been widely published in books and renowned international magazines such as DOMUS, Architectural Review, The Plan, UA Urbanism and Architecture, Detail, and ARQA, among others. Additionally, RPN has received awards in international architectural competitions in Spain, Italy, and Switzerland. They have also been invited to serve as lecturers and visiting critics at universities in the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Spain, and Puerto Rico.

RPN has received numerous prestigious international awards, including Best Architects 21, the Europe 40 under 40 Award, the International Architecture Award, The Plan Award, the German Design Award, The American Architecture Prize, the S.Arch International Award, the Grand Prize of the Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism of El Salvador (XIIBAUES 2016), the Luis M. Mansilla Prize, and the NAN Prize among other significant recognitions.

MARCELO RUIZ PARDO

Marcelo Ruiz Pardo (Spain, 1980) studied architecture at the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM) and the University of Geneva (UNIGE). He has been an Associate Professor of Architectural Design at the ETSAM for 11 years (2012-2023). He holds a Postgraduate degree in ‘City and Environment from the Polytechnic University of Madrid UPM, and he is currently a PhD candidate at the ETSAM. He is a member of several Research Groups, Innovation Teaching Groups, and Development Cooperation Groups at the UPM. He has taught seminars and conferences at international congresses on university teaching.

SONIA NEBREDA

Sonia Nebreda  (Spain, 1979) graduated in Technical Architecture at the Universidad de Burgos (UBU) and Building Engineering at the Nebrija University in Madrid. She holds a Postgraduate degree in Project Management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). She has a broad understanding of all technical and operational issues surrounding the practice of architecture. She has broad experience in the construction industry since she worked for eight years as a Construction and Project Manager in several construction companies.
